I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Matthew Podszus, and my wife Kori and I direct the Navigators ministry at KU. As the parents of 3 kids, we realize that sending your son or daughter to college can be nerve racking! I'm sure you don't take lightly the environments and influences your kids are exposed to.
Here's our story. I grew up in Colorado Springs, CO and Kori grew up in Greensburg, KS. I went to KU and she went to K-State! Both of us were impacted by The Navigators in college. The emphasis on growth through personal involvement and on the importance of the Bible were instrumental to us, along with the significant relationships we built with those in Navs.
We've worked for Navs since 1999, and have been in Lawrence since 2001.
The KU Navigators are part of the campus wing of The Navigators. We've been on campus since 1967, and are a registered student group at KU.
Our goal is to be a resource to students. We provide a weekly fellowship meeting, events and retreats geared toward spiritual growth and community building. Much of what we emphasize is small groups where students can study and explore the Bible. Most of these are led by older students, and they take place all over campus. Our hope is to meet students wherever they are in their spiritual journey and to help them consider the teachings of Jesus.
There is a lot more I could go into, but I'll just say that we would LOVE to have you join us for anything we're doing. We'd love to meet you.
