UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS NAVIGATORS

A Note to Parents

Hello! My name is Aaron Trent, and I direct the Navigators ministry at KU. I met the Navigators while studying Math Education at Kansas State University. God used several key older students trained by the K-State Navigators to invest in my life and help me grow in following Jesus. The personal investment of these men helped to lay significant foundations in my life based on the Word of God. Following in their footsteps and trusting God, I began to give my life away to others by living and discipling among my unbelieving friends on campus at K-State. Seeing God work through my life to help others follow Jesus just like those men who helped me was a sweet encouragement!

My wife, Grace, and I were married on April 11, 2015. We met in 2013 at a Navigators summer training program in Jacksonville, Florida. We are learning about serving and loving those around us as a new couple, working alongside each other for God's glory and the good of many!

Grace graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Communications. She met the Navigators her freshman year at UNI. The investment that staff and older students gave to her, along with the significant influence of her family and church in Ames, shape her pursuit of Jesus and others today.

The KU Navigators are part of the collegiate wing of The Navigators.

We've been on campus since 1967, and are a registered student group at KU.

In 2 Corinthians 4:5, Paul writes,

"For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake."

Our goal is the same--to serve students by pointing them to Jesus. We provide a weekly large group meeting, events, and retreats geared toward spiritual growth, community building, and personal development. Much of what we emphasize is small groups where students can study and explore the Bible in the context of community. Most of these are led by older students, and they take place all over campus. Our hope is to meet students wherever they are in their spiritual journey and to help them come to know the incomparable person  of Jesus Christ. We trust that as students begin to grow in following Jesus, they will begin to take seriously his call to "make disciples of all nations." (Matt 28:19) We work to help them develop as leaders and disciple-makers living in obedience to Jesus for the glory of God, their gladness, and the good of those around them.

If you have any questions about our group or things we're doing on campus, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I would be glad to share more about our vision for ministry on campus at KU and throughout the world. If you are ever in the Lawrence area, please let me know. I would enjoy the opportunity to meet you.

The KUNavs staff team and I value the privilege of being a part of your student's college experience!

Soli Deo Gloria,

Aaron Trent
Campus Director
